How do I get a quote for custom countertops in Central Illinois?

Email your measurements to office@nuformcounter.com and we can usually quote from those, or call (815) 692-4311 or use the contact form below. Quotes are free unless we have to travel more than 25 miles to measure for your quote; beyond 25 miles, the trip is $90. All orders include a $90 measuring fee.

What is the best countertop for a high-traffic family kitchen?

Quartz is our most popular recommendation for busy family kitchens. It is non-porous, stain-resistant, scratch-resistant, and requires no sealing. Brands like Silestone, Cambria, and LG Viatera offer excellent durability with beautiful designs.

From quote to installation

How long does a countertop job take?

Jobs take 2 to 8 weeks. We can usually measure within 1 to 3 business days of your request, and installation normally takes one day: half a day or a full day, depending on the size of the project.

Who measures, and how?

Our own field crew measures, by hand or with a laser depending on how complex the job is. Your cabinets must be installed first, and you need to be home for the measurement.

Is there a deposit?

Yes. We take a 50% deposit before fabrication begins, and the balance is due when the job is complete.

Do you remove my old countertops?

Only if you ask. Tear-out and haul-away is a separate service we add to your quote. If it isn’t in your quote, the old tops need to be out before we install.

Do you disconnect or hook up the sink, faucet or cooktop?

No. We aren’t licensed plumbers. We fully install undermount sinks, and for drop-in sinks and cooktops we cut the opening and set the unit in place to check the fit. We don’t connect water lines, drain lines or garbage disposals. We recommend a licensed plumber or electrician for the connections, and we’re happy to recommend one.

Do you install backsplashes?

Yes. A countertop backsplash is usually 3 to 4 inches tall, and we can run the countertop material all the way up the wall if you want. For a tile backsplash, go to a tile store and a general contractor.

Do you protect my floors and clean up?

We clean up after every install. We can cover floors on request, for an extra fee.

Will you keep me updated?

Yes. We stay in touch from the first call to installation day, by phone or by text if you prefer.

Where do the seams go?

Seam placement is at NuForm’s discretion, as it is with every fabricator. We can discuss likely seam locations at the template appointment, but they aren’t final until your slabs are laid out in our CAD program. On laminate, we keep seams away from sinks, dishwashers and other high-moisture areas.

How do I care for my new countertop?

Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for your specific product.

What does your warranty cover?

We warranty our installation workmanship for one year: if a seam, edge or mounting problem comes from our install, we fix it. Material defects fall under the manufacturer’s warranty; we’ll help file claims, but final decisions rest with the manufacturer. Repairs for chips and other damage after installation are billed.

Can I take samples home?

Yes, when we have a spare. We keep very few spare quartz samples, so for quartz we usually have the manufacturer ship one straight to you. We’ll set that up.

Do you take small jobs?

Yes, small and large: kitchens, bar tops, vanities, laundry rooms and outdoor kitchens.

Do you work with builders and contractors?

Yes, we work with a number of builders and general contractors. Depending on the contractor, we bill either the contractor or the homeowner directly.

Will you install a countertop I bought somewhere else?

No. We only install countertops we make, and we don’t work on countertops that another shop made or installed. Working on a top we didn’t build would leave us responsible for it later.
